Our best selections have been patented in the United Stated, based on their DNA fingerprinting. This allows us to protect our intellectual property, and the rights of our investors in a powerful and reliable way.
Clonal propagation assures that the trees that are planted in the field will show these enhanced characteristics. We also produce hundreds of thousands of nuts each year from our patented varieties, which gives our the unique opportunity of producing seedling for big scale plantations of last generation black walnut.

Black Cherry White Oak
Our breeding program for fine hardwood trees is an ongoing project and we have established several new progeny tests and clone banks in the last few years. All these efforts are coordinated by Dr. Walter Beineke. These research plantations will provide the next generation of improved genetics, extending the genetic gain obtained so far with our patented varieties.
Currently, we are cultivating over 10,000 trees in five different new progeny tests that started in the year 2001. Some selections, such as our black cherry CH21, our white oak WOxx and several black walnuts have already been made. Our intensive cultivation techniques allow us to obtain results at a faster rate than with traditional methods. This way, our pipeline of new genetically improved cultivars will not run dry in the years to come.
